White Shark Viewing
Sharks are surface feeders by nature, ensuring spectacular surface action which often takes place “too close for comfort”! Surface viewers therefore take the pound seat on our specially designed observation platform, with camera’s close at hand.
From the safety of the boat, you are able to photograph your friend/s in the cage and at the same time follow the sharks as they move around the boat and cage. Be careful not to miss out on good photographs. Breaching often takes place in the high season and if you are not 100% ready, you may miss out on a good picture.

AN EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER!
Getting into the cage with the sharks around, is truly the most breath-taking experience you will ever live to remember. When feeding actively around the boat, the sharks may occasionally brush their tail against the cage, but NEVER attack the cage. They are very curious though and often come close-up to the cage, taking a closer look at the diver. A personal, eye-to-eye encounter with this awesome animal, is guaranteed to get the adrenaline going!
Only children aged 5 and older will be allowed on the boat, under parent supervision
Only children 10 and older will be allowed in the cage, under parent supervision.
Children 10 and older pay full price.

SELF DRIVE PACKAGES
As there are no public transportation available in Gansbaai, self drive packages are recommended , whenever you intend to overnight in Gansbaai. This will also allow you more flexibility and freedom to explore nearby places of interest along this beautiful coastline, at your own leisure (in between the shark tours). You will also be assured of easy transportation between your guest house, various restaurants, grocery stores, the harbour etc. We therefore strongly advise that you hire a car upon arrival at Cape Town International airport, where there is a 24hr car rental service available. Detailed directions will be supplied to you prior to your departure, ensuring that you know exactly how to get to your destination from the airport.
PLEASE NOTE: When converting your self–drive package so that it includes our daily transfers, you will automatically forfeit 1 night’s accommodation in Gansbaai. This is due to the fact that we return to Cape Town directly after the last day’s tour, and you will therefore no longer require accommodation on the last night. Please deduct 1 night’s accommodation off the package price.
We appreciate the fact that you are coming to a foreign country and may not be comfortable with a self-drive option. We therefore do offer transfer option on the above packages – please ask us about these rates.
TRANSFERS ON PACKAGE TOURS
Please note that our shuttle from Cape Town to Gansbaai only runs on days when the weather allows the shark diving tour to go ahead. Should you be booked on a multiple day package tour which includes our return transfers, you will only be transported to your accommodation in Gansbaai if and when the tour is scheduled to go ahead. Should the weather not allow us to go ahead on day 1 of your tour, our shuttle will not run to Gansbaai and your first night’s accommodation in Gansbaai would therefore be cancelled and deducted off your total tour price. This means that you would have to arrange an alternative night/s accommodation in Cape Town, until the weather allows us to go ahead.

DIRECTIONS FROM CAPE TOWN:
Directions from Cape Town to WHITE SHARK VENTURES in Gansbaai;
(Please allow 2 hours.) Take the N2 Freeway past the airport and Somerset West. Continue over the Sir Lowry’s Pass towards Hermanus. After passing through the Houwhoek Valley and over the Houwhoek mountains, take the R43 left towards Hermanus. Follow the road through Hermanus and continue out of Hermanus again, towards Stanford. Once you pass Stanford continue for another 20 km, until you enter Gansbaai. As you enter Gansbaai you will be in the main road (police station on the right). Continue with the main road through the town, until you get to a stop sign indicating Kleinbaai/Blompark. Take a right turn here and continue all the way down this road for a few kilometers and over the last stop sign, until you see the ocean right in front of you.
The road now naturally turns to the right and a few metres along you will see a large white double storey building on your right (opposite the slip-way). You will also clearly see our name “White Shark Ventures” in front of the white building. Enter through the front door and make your way up the stairs to the top floor, where we will await you.
NOTE - If using a GPS – DO NOT TURN RIGHT AT DE KELDERS. This is just before Gansbaai. Carry on straight and the road will take you into the main road in Gansbaai.
